Day 1 – Monday

  • 11:00 – 11:30 (Ron) Wetland Types, Wetland Site Types, Vegetation Forms & Communities
  • 11:30 – 12:15 (Steve) Wetland Complexing
  •  12:15 – 1:00 Box Lunch (provided on the bus)
  •  1:00 – 5:00 (All) Cache Bay field trip

Day 2 – Tuesday

  • 7:30 – 8:00 (light breakfast provided)
  • 8:00 – 8:45 (Joel) Overview of Day & Highview Wetland Imagery
  • 8:45  am – 1:30 (All) Highview Wetland field visit Bus transportation Box lunch (provided in the field)
  • 1:30-2:30 Return Travel
  • 2:30 – 3:30 (Joel) Introduction to GIS and Digital Imagery Interpretation Mapping
  • 3:30 – 3:45 break

Day 3 – Wednesday

  • 1:00-2:45 (Melinda) Biological Component

  • 3:00 – 4:45 (Melinda) Special Features Component
  • 6:30-9:00 Field Trip to Cranberry Marsh

Day 4 – Thursday

  • 7:30 – 8:00 (light breakfast provided) NO LUNCH PROVIDED
  • 8:00 – 9:00 (Steve, Ron and Melinda) Instructor explanation of Frair Lake Student Exercise
  • 9:00 am – 9:30 pm Student evaluation of Frair Lake (includes classroom prep, GIS lab work, field work, and class work). The facilities will be open at the following times – please plan your group time accordingly (you will not be able to access these areas outside of the times noted below).
    • GIS Lab and Classroom open 9am – noon and 7:30pm – 9:30 (Joel and Steve in GIS Lab.  Steve and Ron in classroom)
    • Frair Lake field site is “open” 12:00 – 7pm
  • Bus to leave for field site at 12:00 and 1:00 sharp (Steve and Ron will be at the field  site)
  • Bus to leave from field site at 6:00 and 7:00 sharp

Day 5 – Friday

ON YOUR OWN FOR BREAKFAST

  • 8:00 – 12:00 Student evaluation of Frair Lake continued
    • Classroom open 8:00 – 12:00 (Steve)
    • GIS lab is open 8:00-12:00 (Joel, Melinda)
  • 12:00 – 1:00 Lunch (provided)
  • 1:00 – 3:00 (Gina) Student presentations of evaluations
  • 3:00 – 3:15 Break
  • 3:15 – 4:15 Review of Frair Lake Evaluation (Joel – mapping) (Steve – scoring)
  • 4:15-4:30 Course wrap-up (Vendor and MNRF Instructor)
